The Last Mimzy is about two children that find a mysterious container. The contents of which have the power to change the world. The story-line unravels throughout the movie. The foreshadowing was interesting, yet not impossible to figure out where the story is going. I found the theme of the story to be very relevant with somewhat of a Ray Bradbury feel to the story. The character development needed a little more direction and focused far to long on the parents instead of the children. The special effects where nothing that we haven’t seen before but it was rather seamless and didn’t take you out of the story. This is a family movie that doesn’t seem to hit the target audience dead on. All that being said I really enjoyed the movie. I liked the characters, enjoyed the message, and the slight twist at the end was good.
