I’ve been told I should have gone to the theater to see this movie. Peter Jackson has a way of making movies an epic event. I really never had the time to see it, though. I watched the DVD last night and the movie was beautiful. The story was rewritten in a way that was more realistic yet remained faithful to the original. Unfortunately, I was never in love with the original King Kong, I’m not in love with this version. I don’t have the nostalgic memories with King Kong, it was just a black and white movie my parents made me watch. I have founder memories of Ninja Turtles. King Kong just felt very long. It’s hard to keep my attention when I already know the ending. No matter how well done it is, it’s still like sitting down and watching a movie for the second time. It’s a beautifully done movie, but I would like Peter Jackson to focus on projects with more substance.
