Brick is a self proclaimed detective movie. Brendan’s love turns up dead, and he takes the beatings of a life time to find out why. The movie is set around current day high school while the style loosely balances between a independent home film and a film noir minus the interior monolog. I rather enjoyed the plot development, and watching the events unfold. This movie does have a very depressing tone to it which does cause it to drag at certain points. It has the feel of a directors first film. Even so the storyline is enough to carry the movie. It’s available on DVD and through Netflix.
