Neil Gaiman & Dave McKean have crafted a dream world. It was an amazing film to watch. It brought a hand drawn feeling to film. There was so much depth to the surroundings and you just felt like you where in a chaotic sketchbook. Jim Hensons studios work had an erie Brother Quay way about it. Sadly, the story line of this movie seems to lack the true symbolism I was expecting. The film does have the battling of Dark and Light. It just seemed a little too apparent. I would have preferred a deeper internal character exploration through the use of this dream world. It’s almost like a kid story with the visuals for a goth teenager. Visually it is worth watching this movie. “Look over there, an idiot!”
